Barcelona may face the embarrassing prospect of getting to pay Liverpool £4.5million if Philippe Coutinho wins the Champions League this season… with Bayern Munich.
Coutinho twisted the knife with two late targets in opposition to his father or mother membership in Bayern’s big 8-2 win over Barca final evening, to knock them out of the Champions League quarter-finals.
And it may get even worse for the Catalans, as based on The Mirror, they must pay Liverpool a bonus as a part of their deal to signal Coutinho from the Reds in 2018.
It’s understood the bonus is particular to the participant and never the membership, so even when Coutinho lifts the trophy with the Germans, Barcelona would nonetheless should pay up.
In the meantime, Coutinho despatched a relatively humorous tweet again in 2011 – which some are saying foreshadowed Bayern Munich’s thumping win.
