Swae Lee collaborates with Drake on his new single “Won’t Be Late,” which was released on Friday (Aug. 16) on all streaming platforms.
On Wednesday, Swae teased the song on his Twitter account. In his tweet, he shared a vintage-styled photo with “8 6 19” composed on it. Alongside the image, the Rae Sremmurd rapper stated, “Vibes drop starting tomorrow.”
The Tekno-produced banger denotes the first time Swae and Drizzy have ever combined up on a song and has an island bop.
“Tell ’em again, tell ’em off (Tell ’em off)/It just dawned on me (On me), what’s right, feels wrong,” Swae croons on the dance track. “No, no wingman, that’s only my A game/At this game, two can play.”
Drake keeps the vibes going as he rhymes about a complicated relationship. “Yeah, yeah, saving my time for you/Suddenly I freed up (Free)/Freezing my times with you/When I’m lonely, I can bring them up/Closed off my line for you,” he sings.
Notwithstanding “Won’t Be Late,” the 24-year-old rapper likewise released a melodic love song called “Sextasy.”
Swae released Swaecation a year ago as a feature of Rae Sremmurd’s SR3MM triple album, yet he promised fans that he would drop an official solo album in 2019.
Meanwhile, Swae is hitting the road with Post Malone on the “Runaway Tour” one month from now. The trek is scheduled to launch on Sept. 14 in Tacoma, Wash., and wrap up Nov. 20 in Los Angeles.
