Tottenham are joyful to gloss over tweets from Dulux after the membership was mercilessly mocked by their new sponsor on Thursday.
In a collection of now-deleted posts, the paint firm took goal at Spurs’ lack of trophies and leaky defence on Twitter, simply moments after they have been introduced because the membership’s official paint provider.
Dulux posted a picture of an empty trophy cupboard with the Tottenham crest, describing it as ‘unused and dusty’, whereas even suggesting their well-known canine mascot would do a greater job than the present Spurs defenders.
Responding to the posts, Dulux issued an apology to all Spurs followers and promised to resolve it.
“We’re deeply sorry for the posts from Dulux this morning in response to the announcement of our relationship with @SpursOfficial,” a tweet learn.
“These don’t mirror how proud we’re to be the Official Paint Provider of the Membership. We’re investigating what occurred and apologise to all Spurs followers.”
Tottenham have been little doubt left slightly red-faced by the weird episode – and supervisor Jose Mourinho was even requested whether or not he likes English Shepherd canine in his press convention, leaving the Spurs boss confused.
Nonetheless, they selected to make gentle of the state of affairs in response to Dulux’s apology.
Spurs tweeted out a picture of the well-known Dulux canine in a Spurs package, deleting a tweet concerning the firm’s love for Arsenal, and replied to their apology by saying: “We’ll gloss over it this time.”
